ATS-SBCP12 Rod to Steel Beam Connector Plate
The ATS-SBCP rod-to-steel-beam connector plate is a weldable plate that can be used within both the Anchor Tiedown System for shearwall overturning restraint (ATS) and the wind uplift restraint (URS) system. The plate features a center hole with internal threads engineered to receive a steel threaded rod (sold separately). This assembly is for projects where the run is to be anchored to steel beams. The design of the steel beam and the stiffeners are the responsibility of the designer.

Material
- ASTM A572 Grade 50, ASTM A36 or GB/T 700 Q235B
Installation
- Prepare base metal on steel beam in accordance with AWS D1.1.
- Follow weld geometry and standards per AISC 360-16 and AWS 2017.
- Thread the rod into the SBCP plate until fully seated, ensuring the rod bottoms out against the beam.
- To ensure proper thread engagement, measure the length of the rod extending above the plate and add the plate thickness. The result should match the overall rod length.
- Minimum flange thickness of 0.258" is required for the structural beam.
- Web stiffener requirements including quantity, size and welding specifications by designer.
