7/8IN DIA 28IN ANCHOR BOLT
The new SABR anchor bolt is a cast-in-place anchor that comes in a wide range of diameters. With a 6'' threaded section, this anchor bolt accommodates a variety of holdown seat heights, including all Simpson Strong-Tie holdowns, when installed on a 2x or 3x sill plate. The one-piece sweep design maximizes its position in the concrete, providing increased tension capacity.
The Simpson Strong-Tie SABR anchor bolts are code listed by ICC-ES under the 2012, 2015, 2018, 2021 and 2024 IBC® and IRC®.

Installation

- SABR anchor bolts are only for concrete applications poured monolithically except where noted.
- Top nuts and washers for holdown attachment are not supplied with the SABR; install standard nuts, couplers and/or washers as required.
- On HDG SABR anchors, chase the threads to use standard nuts or couplers or use overtapped products in accordance with ASTM A563 — for example, the Simpson Strong-Tie NUT5/8-OST, NUT3/4-OST, NUT7/8-OST, NUT1-OST, NUT1 1/4-OST, CNW5/8-OST, CNW3/4-OST, CNW7/8-OST, CNW1-OST, or CNW1 1/4-OST.
- Install SABR anchor bolts before the concrete pour using AnchorMate® anchor bolt holders. Install the SABR per the plan view detail.
- Minimum concrete compressive strength is 2,500 psi.
- When rebar is required, it does not need to be tied to the SABR.
