WSWH-TSS18KT Strong-Wall High-Strength Wood Shearwall Two-Story Stacked Connection Kit
The Strong-Wall high-strength wood shearwall two-story stacked connection kit is designed to be a complete solution for two-story stacked applications. The kit works with Strong-Wall high-strength wood shearwalls to resist lateral forces. The WSWH two-story stacked connection kit offers simplified installation and includes holdowns, a shear transfer plate, threaded rods and heavy hex nuts necessary to join the upper and lower WSWH panels.

Product Includes
(1) shear transfer plate; (2) multistory kit holdowns; (2) 1" x 30" threaded rods (ASTM A193 B7); (2) heavy hex nuts; installation instructions Installation
Install holdowns 1/2" from outer edge of lower WSWH panel; use 0.148 x 2 1/2" (min. length) nails; fill all holes
Install a shim between the holdowns for flush bearing of the double top plates
Drill holes in subfloor (2" max. dia.) and double top plates (1 1/8" max. dia.)
Install supplied threaded rods through holes into holdowns; tighten until fully engaged
Trim threaded rods as required to achieve 6 1/2 " standoff from top of subfloor
Install heavy hex nuts on threaded rods such that they are flush with the top of the subfloor
Install blocking (matches height of rim joist) between top plates and subfloor; attachment per designer
Place shear transfer plate over threaded rods and attach to outer face of the rim joist using 0.148" x 2 1/2" (min. length) nails
Install upper WSWH panel using heavy bearing plates and heavy hex nuts provided with WSWH panel
Attach A34 angles on either side of the WSWH panel (not provided)
Attach LTP4s (not provided) to double top plates and rim joist, per designer
