THDRG6275 Titen HD Thread Gauge
The Titen HD Thread Gauge gives the installer the ability to quickly inspect the THD™ screw anchor's thread diameter for reuse. With this gauge, users can check the thread wear on preinstalled THD anchors to determine suitability for reuse in temporary applications. The dual-sided design can gauge both 5/8" and 3/4" diameter Titen HD carbon steel screw anchors. The gauge is designed for a quick and easy way to assess if a Titen heavy duty screw anchor can be used again.

Installation
- To use, insert the THD anchor into the appropriate end of the gauge — if any part of the anchor passes through the witness hole in the center of the gauge, it is not suitable to be used again. If it does not pass the witness hole, it can be reused in temporary applications.
- Note: 5/8" diameter Titen HD must be inserted on the side of Titen HD Thread Gauge marked with 5/8. Similarly, 3/4" diameter Titen HD must be inserted on the side of Titen HD Thread Gauge marked with 3/4.

Reused THDs:
Discard the THD anchor immediately and do not reuse if any part of the anchor is visible in the witness hole of the Titen HD Thread Gauge. The THD anchor threads wear with each reuse, which reduces the strength and allowable design load values of the THD anchors. It is important to check the THD anchor using the Titen HD Thread Gauge before each use. The reuse of any THD anchor when any part of the anchor is visible in the witness hole may cause death or serious injury. If instructions or warnings are unclear or if you have any questions about the Titen HD Thread Gauge, do not reuse the THD anchor and contact Simpson Strong-Tie.
Reused THDs:
Before reusing any THD anchor, you should consult a qualified design professional to determine whether the reused THD anchor is suitable for your particular temporary application and use. Reused THD anchors have less strength and lower allowable design load values, as compared to unused THD anchors. Prior to each use, a qualified design professional should review the allowable load values and other information published by Simpson Strong-Tie. Always use a new and unused THD anchor for any permanent application. Reused THD anchors are not suitable for use in permanent applications.
