Product Overview
SDCP8X80-R50 SDCP TIMBER-CP Screw (Black E-Coat) (Box of 50pcs)
SDCP 8 x 80MM Black E-Coat 50ct
The Strong-Drive SDCP Timber-CP screw is now a black e-coated structural fastener that delivers longstanding performance in cross-laminated timber (CLT), mass timber construction and general interior applications. These partially threaded, 8 mm (0.315")- and 10 mm (0.390")-diameter structural fasteners are designed to pull structural members together with superb holding power and excellent load capacity. The large, flat head and underhead nibs provide for clean countersinking, flush with the surface. Predrilling is not required in most applications. The SDCP fastener has a black, interior-grade e-coat finish that, along with an optimized hardness profile compliant with CSA O86:24, helps mitigate the risk of brittle fracture. This low-friction coating allows for driving these fasteners with less torque. For interior and dry-service applications.
- Optimized hardness profile mitigates external hydrogen embrittlement issues
- Black e-coat finish provides a construction-durable, nonmetallic and friction-reducing coating for FRT lumber and corrosion resistance (approved or ICC-ES AC257 Exposure Condition 3)
- Flat head with nibs helps countersink for a flush finish
- Deep T40, 6-lobe recess for a secure drive (replacement bit: BIT40T-134-R2)
- Heavy-duty shank provides strength and durability
- Shank knurl aids in torque reduction
- Type-17 point ensures fast starts, reduces installation torque and eliminates the need for predrilling in most applications
- Compliant with CSA O86:24 hydrogen embrittlement requirements
- Cross-laminated timber (CLT), mass timber construction, general timber and interior applications including: wall to wall, floor to floor, wall to floor, panel to beam, panel to wall, surface spines, lap joints, ledger connections
- Black e-coat
As an alternative to the original yellow-zinc coated version, Simpson Strong-Tie is providing this version of Strong-Drive® SDCP Timber-CP screw with an optimized hardness profile, and a black e-coat that provides a non-metallic, friction-reducing coating for interior/dry-service corrosion resistance.
